For the antagonist, we did not have a pair of black gloves for Sammie to wear. We improvised to create the same look by using black paint to cover her hands. This was an effective improvisation as it wasn't noticeable during filming because we made sure she continued to cover her hands in the same way for each filming day. However, black gloves would have been easier, cleaner and quicker as we had to wait for the black paint to dry and it took a while for Sammie to get it off afterwards.
For the victim, we wanted the makeup for the final scene to look as realistic as possible, without being too graphic for the rating we chose for the film. We enlisted the help of a friend who is good with special effects makeup to create the look above. She used regular makeup as well as liquid latex, fake blood and face paint to make the head injury look real. The makeup is effective as even in the close ups it will look as though she was actually hurt. This will make our film a lot more tense and exciting as the audience will wonder what happened to her and who did it.
